At times our relationship with food can be complex and we often get caught up in the numbers of what we consume. Whilst it is important to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle, being mindful of how and why we eat is just as, if not more important than what we eat.
Emily, the founder of The Daily Calm recognised and experienced this internal struggle and thus the Mindful Eating Intentions deck was born; a pack of 60 cards, each with a unique affirmation and intention engraved on them.
These cards were designed to be used as a daily practice however whether you do so is up to you! Use these cards with each meal, each day or each week, however by doing so, you are strengthening your relationship with food and simultaneously nourishing the mind. Additionally, strengthening your relationship with food can aid digestion, energy and overall mental health and wellbeing.
When speaking to Emily, she expressed her desire to have these cards as a stepping stone to opening up the conversation between food and people’s relationship with it. As someone who has also struggled with the numbers behind food, reflecting on these cards before I ate reminded me to love and respect my body.
