The Boulevard in Ivanhoe, Melbourne, transforms into a mesmerising wonderland each December as the residents unite to create a dazzling spectacle of Christmas lights. Every house along this street becomes a canvas for creativity, with residents going all out to illuminate the neighbourhood with Christmas spirit.
The tradition of decorating homes with light displays, nativity scenes, and Christmas decorations began over 60 years ago and now attracts thousands of people who drive and walk along the Boulevard each evening in the lead-up to Christmas. Each home competes to outshine the others and these light displays, sparkling decorations, and meticulously adorned front yards are something out of a movie that you cannot miss.
The Banyule City Council is providing traffic management from the 20th-24th of December from 6:30 pm-11:30 pm however you can view the Christmas lights at any time throughout the festive month.
