About the lights

These smaller LED lights are split into 200 red, green and blue LEDs.
Now you might read that and realise that this figure doesn’t quite reach the 800 light quote I just mentioned. And you’d be right, because there are an additional 180 infrared lights and 20 deep infrared lights that are spread within the mask as well. These infrared lights are completely safe and are commonly used in light therapy because of their ability to puncture the dermis of our skin and boost collagen, blood flow and skin healing. See? I told you this mask was something else.
I’m not done there though, and in fact those 20 deep infrared lights that I mentioned penetrate deeper than just your dermis. Your dermis is roughly 5mm, however these deep infrared lights go 10mm deep in your skin to support more intense collagen production and skin regeneration. In whole, these lights work in perfect symphony to give you firm, plump skin that’ll leave you glowing.
How does it stack against the market?
For me, the Project E LumaLuxe Face Pro is a clear market favourite for me and should be a must have for those in need of a little extra support without trying to rewind time to get it. However, good skincare doesn’t come cheaply. At $609, the LumaLux can be considered a long term investment. Importantly for me, it takes away some of the guilt I feel when I’m not able to get through my entire skincare routine. I wouldn’t use it as a permanent supplement to what I already do – and maybe that’s because I’m a sucker for my own routine, but I have thoroughly enjoyed blending into my current routine and making it a staple for my night-to-night process.

My experiences
I was fortunate enough to be gifted the Project E LumaLux Face Pro LED Mask to create this review so let me continue to be honest in my experiences with it. Having used it for a month, varying between 3 – 4 uses a week, I saw and felt a small difference in my skin, without it impacting my night time routine. Because it is portable and so easy to use, I was able to blend it in with other activities with ease. Using the hand held remote, I simply preset the red light therapy colour as I wanted to target collagen production and skin firmness while preventing fine lines and reducing my dark circles.
Having space to open my eyes, I was still able to scroll through my socials as I wound down for the evening while feeling the warm glow of the red infrared lights tackle my skin concerns. Putting the mask on is so easy as well, having a flexible mask has meant it shapes to my face perfectly and can be tightened at the back with ease, leaving no discomfort in the process at all.
For me, the results feel more evident than they may picture. My skin feels tighter and like it’s carrying more volume. I also do see a small reduction in my dark circles and my skin looks brighter which has made me feel more confident to not wear makeup.
