We Tried the Viral Zero-Waste Detergent Sheets by Lucent Globe

January 13, 2024
And yep, they’re as amazing as they sound.

2024 is a chance to start fresh with new goals for the year ahead — and with 2023 being one of the hottest years on record, we sought out new ways to double down on sustainability and reduce our eco-footprint.

Our answer: Lucent Globe.

Like us, you have probably seen Lucent Globe on Instagram or TikTok — these guys (brother duo Brodie and Roger) produce some of the most bolshy (and funniest) viral videos that have convinced us why we should avoid chemical detergents and make the eco-switch.

But do their products live up to their glory? We put their Lucent Globe Laundry Detergent sheets to the test…. And it’s a yes from us. Here’s why:

Detergent sheets to the test…. And it’s a yes from us. Here’s why:

They’re zero-waste and biodegradable

Unlike traditional liquid detergents packaged in plastic containers, Lucent Globe detergent sheets eliminate the need for excess packaging. Their Laundry Detergent Sheets are made from biodegradable materials, ensuring that they leave minimal impact on the environment.

The production process itself is also designed to be waterless, addressing one of the significant concerns associated with laundry detergents. By eliminating water usage during manufacturing, Lucent Globe not only conserves a precious resource but also minimises pollution from water treatment processes, making it a truly eco-friendly choice for the environmentally conscious.

They’re plant-based with no chemicals, yet still, kick stains with a powerful clean

We were extremely happy to find that the laundry detergent sheets, despite being plant-based, don’t compromise on their primary function — cleaning power. Our washing (keeping in mind we have grubby boyfriends who always manage to get their clothes dirty to the level of a 5-year-old child) came out as good as new! How can that be, you ask? Well, the detergent sheets are infused with naturally occurring protease enzymes from Lucent Globe’s plant-based ingredients. These enzymes are highly effective in breaking down tough stains like blood, grass, and food residues; providing a powerful clean, comparable to chemical-based detergents, and ensuring that your clothes come out fresh.

They’re easy on the wallet, at approximately 26 cents per wash

In addition to being environmentally friendly and effective, Lucent Globe’s laundry detergent sheets are also pretty cost-efficient. At approximately 26 cents per wash, each sheet offers a competitive alternative to traditional detergents which can add up over time.

A bonus we found is that the detergent sheets are also great for confined homes like apartments, or even to take on a trip abroad — simply tear off the number of sheets you need and take them away without being bogged down with space and weight!

All in all, Lucent Globe may talk the talk, but they also walk the walk when it comes to having an effective cleaning solution for your clothes that’s eco-friendly and cost-effective. It’s really a win-win.

The company has also just launched Aussie-first Fabric Softener Sheets to complement their detergent sheets — we can’t wait to try those out too!
