Christmas in the City: Melbourne 2023

Melbourne really knows how to celebrate Christmas, so we have planned the perfect day out in the city to get amongst all of the festivities.

First, start your adventures off at the Queen Victoria Market where you can check everything off your Christmas shopping list including fresh produce and purchasing gifts for loved ones from over 500 shops and stalls.

Next, catch the tram to Burke Street to see the Myer Christmas Windows where you will see Bluey’s Christmas take over the tradition this year.

From there, catch the tram again to Fed Square where you can see the enormous 16.5-metre Christmas tree which is lit up with vibrant LED lights. Make sure you time your tip to arrive just before 9 pm so you can grab a drink and watch the sunset while taking in the light and sound show.

End your night by walking to Melbourne Town Hall where you can enjoy the famous Christmas projections. The building’s iconic façade is illuminated by six gorgeous, colourful treatments and adorned with native floral wreaths, themed flower beds and nutcracker soldiers standing guard.
