Offering three tiers of delicious options, this café-deli hybrid serves up both takeaway and dine-in experiences, complete with exceptional coffee, premium produce, and the perfect backdrop for your next Instagram post. Nocturnal: Museum After Dark
If you want to see a Melbourne icon in a brand-new way, head to the ever-trending Melbourne Museum for their Nocturnal series. The event takes place one Thursday of each month, allowing you to step into the Museum after dark and experience a real-life Night at the Museum vibe. Food and drinks are available, with the evening promising to be child-free (way better than what the Museum is like during the day!). Tickets are $32 for an adult and $29 for a student, but spots are limited due to the monthly status of these one-of-a-kind events! Head to their website here to book your spot.

Bratzz Closet
With their store being visited by Julia Fox late last year, the curated Y2K store Bratzz Closet is officially an icon. The second-hand shop offers mcbling and indie sleaze fashion options at reasonable resell prices, with some stock even brand new. Score a new Juicy Couture set (the OG 2000s kind, not the 2020s re-attempt) or find a cute pair of fur boots at their Collingwood store. More info is available here.

Lost in Melbourne
I’ve seen this activity on social media for a long time now, and am definitely overdue to try it. Lost in Melbourne is an escape room company offering hour-long challenges for you and your friends to complete. You have to work together to get out of their terrifying rooms, with five escape room options to choose from and two gaming-style escape rooms also available. This kind of activity would be super fun with a partner or with a group of friends–––it promises to be a scary and unique experience. Book it in here.

Higher Ground
While not a necessarily new establishment, Higher Ground is a certified reliable and delicious coffee and cafe option. In a beautiful, heritage-listed building, you’ll find classic brunch options like eggs on sourdough and more inventive choices like their black forest bircher muesli. Whatever you choose, make sure you get it alongside a cappuccino or latte for a great wake-up call. If you’re feeling the mid-afternoon slump, the restaurant even offers cocktails and afternoon dining options for a post-work pick me up. Check them out here.
