Meet India, The Modern Muse Magazine’s fashion stylist. India was once an introverted individual who preferred to avoid attention, but her journey of self-discovery led her to embrace fashion as a crucial part of her identity. As she gained confidence, she began experimenting with colour and developed a playful approach to fashion, learning to express her personal style without concern for others’ opinions. Her passion for fashion design emerged in childhood and led her to study a personal styling course with the Australian Style Institute in Melbourne. Since then, India has assisted in numerous fashion shows and editorial shoots across the country, with several features in magazines. A strong advocate for sustainable fashion, she encourages conscious consumption and incorporates unique second-hand pieces into her work. Inspired by icons like Carrie Bradshaw, Maxine Wylde, and Wisdom Kaye, India embraces creativity and individuality, viewing fashion as a powerful form of self-expression rather than just following trends.

Meet Alisha, a writer for The Modern Muse Magazine. When she isn’t writing, she loves trying new restaurants, visiting bookstores and thrift shopping. Alisha loves daydreaming by the seaside and works as a librarian when she isn’t out with friends or reading. Alisha is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Communications & Literature and can talk about novels, films, music and fashion for hours.

Meet Jacki, a journalist and editor from Perth, Western Australia. She is a big fan of all things artsy and literary and loves the challenge of writing about something new or quirky. When she’s not at her writing desk, you can often find her in a new cafe or hiding away in her local secondhand bookstore.

Based in Melbourne’s inner north, Charlie is currently completing her Bachelor of Communications (Journalism), with the hopes of emerging as a fashion journalist. Her writing focuses on relatable yet insightful content, providing an engaging angle on fashion and lifestyle matters. When she’s not formulating her next article, you can usually find her scouring a vintage clothing market, attending Pilates, or reading Vogue’s latest issue.

Meet Genevieve, a writer for Modern Muse Magazine. Genevieve has been working in the marketing industry for over 10 years, helping brands tell stories through the written word. Her journey as a writer is fuelled by weaving stories that inspire and connect audiences through humour and relatability. When not typing rapidly on the keyboard, Genevieve can be found pottering in the garden, reading (yet another) crime fiction book or devouring the latest cult documentary.

Meet Steph, The Modern Muse’s resident travel agent, who found her heart beats faster for travel than for textbooks. Spending a decade as a flight attendant, time living overseas and then as a travel consultant, her journey is a tale of passports, plane tickets, and wanderlust (complete with more than her fair share of delays). Despite travelling to over 50 countries, Steph’s bucket list still stretches longer than an international flight. She hopes to inspire your future travels and guide you toward slightly fewer mishaps than she’s encountered. Get ready to catch the travel bug.
